Korean Phrases for a K-Pop Dance Class in Seoul

Studios around Hongdae and Gangnam post a 원데이 클래스 (wondei keullaeseu), a one-day class, within a week of a comeback — one song, one 안무 (anmu), choreography, two hours, and a filmed run at the end. Almost nobody in the room is a dancer. The two lines that decide how your afternoon goes are 초보도 들을 수 있어요? (chobodo deureul su isseoyo?), "Can a beginner take this class?" and 한 번만 더 보여 주세요 (han beonman deo boyeo juseyo), "Please show it one more time."
(chobodo deureul su isseoyo?), "Can a beginner take this class?"
- Ask for a repeat: 한 번만 더 보여 주세요 (han beonman deo boyeo juseyo), "Please show it one more time."
(cheoncheonhi hae jusil su isseoyo?), "Could you go slowly?"
- Name the problem: 이 동작이 잘 안 돼요 (i dongjagi jal an dwaeyo), "I can't get this move right."
(majimage yeongsang jjigeoyo?), "Do we film at the end?"

How do you keep up in a class taught in Korean?
The teaching is mostly counts and mirroring, so you follow far more than you understand. The Korean you need is for the four or five moments when following stops working.
- 초보도 들을 수 있어요? when you book or when you walk in, because studios run the same song at two levels on the same day.
- 마지막에 영상 찍어요? early, since the answer changes what you wear and where you stand.
- 한 번만 더 보여 주세요 during the breakdown, said out loud rather than hoped for — the teacher repeats a section whenever someone asks.
- 천천히 해 주실 수 있어요? for the part that only falls apart at full speed.
- 이 동작이 잘 안 돼요 pointing at the mirror, which gets you a correction instead of another run from the top.

What do Korean speakers say back?
Answers come between eight-counts, so they are short and usually end with an instruction.
— chobodo deureul su isseoyo? — "Can a beginner take this class?"
앞줄로 오세요 — ne, oneureun chobo banieyo. apjullo oseyo — "Yes, today's class is the beginner one. Come to the front row."
You: 이 동작이 잘 안 돼요 — i dongjagi jal an dwaeyo — "I can't get this move right."
Them: 천천히 갈게요. — cheoncheonhi galgeyo. balbuteo matchwo bolkkayo? — "I'll go slowly. Shall we start with the feet?"
— majimage yeongsang jjigeoyo? — "Do we film at the end?"
옷 갈아입고 오세요 — ne, majimak samsip bune jjigeoyo. ot garaipgo oseyo — "Yes, we film in the last thirty minutes. Go and change."
Front row is not a punishment here — it is where the teacher can see you and fix you. If you learned the choreography at home before the trip, see Korean phrases when a K-pop dance practice video drops.
What usually goes wrong at a one-day class?
The usual mistake is silence. Standing at the back copying a blurry reflection for two hours feels safer than asking, but 한 번만 더 보여 주세요 is a request the teacher hears constantly and answers without breaking stride. Nobody in that room is judging your Korean; they are watching the mirror.
The other one is skipping the level question. A class labelled for the same song can be pitched at people who already dance, and 초보도 들을 수 있어요? asked before you pay puts you in the right room. Add 마지막에 영상 찍어요? and you arrive with the right clothes instead of dancing the filmed take in a coat. Say it out loud, not just in your head
Every one of these is said out of breath, over a speaker, to someone who is already counting the next eight.
SULSUL is a speaking gym for exactly that moment: pick a survival pattern, say it out loud, get an instant fix from the AI pronunciation coach, then run the real situation as a mission. The 100-pattern PDF workbook comes along as a bonus.
